What's up with this Gully? A model to guide management options

The impact of eroding gullies across landscapes is a cumulative legacy for downstream habitats and waterways. 

So what makes a gully erode?  How can we better understand erosion processes to design management management options that remediate the surrounding land or reduce erosion??

These questions have underpinned an ongoing body of modelling work that Melanie Roberts has undertaken as a Queensland Water Modelling Network Fellow in a collaboration between the Australian Rivers Institute at Griffith University and the Department of Environment Science and Innovation. 

As a dedicated mathematician Melanie is equally passionate about making the application of the gully models match real world needs and support practitioners in their efforts to remediate and reduce the impact of eroding gullies.
